Just caught wind of another great producer that goes by Unravel who sent us over the track “U n I”. The producer seems to hail from Budapest and fuses elements of ambient soundscapes with a hip-hop and r&b lean in his work. This track showcases an intuitive knack for infusing soulful vocal samples with slick production work, resulting in a brilliant flip. You can find the track on his EP ~ which is available over at Bandcamp.

Here’s a gorgeous electronic opus from Oaks-based producer Sterling Flow (a.k.a. Garrett Ellison) called “Palma”. The track is a wave of bliss from start to finish; the vocal samples are subtly submerged in this wave, the bass warms the refreshing atmosphere, and the beats are clean swimming through the piece. Holy Chrome Sparks. It’s been a good long while since we’ve heard from Ann Arbor’s Chrome Sparks (a.k.a. Jeremy Malvin) and dropping his brand new cut “Send The Pain On” has sent us into an unbelievable frenzy. Here’s the return of that distinct CS sound; a brilliantly crafted progression of emotional melodies that inexplicably reach into your soul while a touch of vocal work and samples give life to all the inarticulate feelings that follow. We’re always listening intently for chilled, yet innovative beats and LA-based producer spazzkid (a.k.a. Mark Redito) has given us just that with his latest effort called “Forgiveness”. The track goes through an interesting progression of samples and melodies but is always backed with a disparate wall of chilled beats. It looks like worries is a new project coming out of London and their debut effort “Halloween Night” is a taste of their forthcoming endeavors. The track lives in a thick layer of jangly guitars with breezy melodies that seem to echo and roll off each other effortlessly while wispy vocals swim in a deep pool of reverb. From what we’re hearing at first hand here, this outfit should have no problem continuing their streak of such pleasurable dream pop. You can grab the track over at their Soundcloud.

Here’s the brilliant track “True North” from 17 year-old, Tennessee-based producer Patchley (a.k.a. Patrick Atchley). Beautifully chopped and pitched vocal samples sit on a bed of trap-inflected beat work while a comforting layer of bass covers the dreamy atmosphere. Simple and gorgeous. Beautifully haunting, “By Your Side” is the work of the mysterious producer TWOS. The track progressively buries you deeper and deeper into its languid hypnosis, an effect produced by a dream-inducing haze found in the soft underlying tones of distant sirens, warm rumbling bass, and soul-lulling vocal samples. Here is the new track “Love Me” produced by Fort-Collins’ a.zebra (a.k.a. Adam Haag) who salutes France’s XXStunned Tomcat// (a.k.a. Pierre-Emmanuel Récio) for providing the inspiration via sample chords for the stunning track. A brilliant combination of ambient synth soundscapes layered with choppy pitch-shifted vocal samples and hard-hitting beats, it’s a perfect fusion of sounds between these two to say the least. Tustin’s Horse Head (a.k.a. Chris Thorne) just dropped “GIRL ♡” and we can’t help but fawn over its gauzy, chilled body. A chopped and pitch-shifted vocal sample is extensively and brilliantly used as it is laced over with a thick layer of gauzy filters and clean hip-hops beats. Time’s been a little tight for us with regards to picking up new sounds to review but the mysterious US-based producer Mounet has given us something with “Breaking Up”. The track’s got a groove that definitely helps pick up your own groove, especially if you’ve been out of the game for a bit. There’s a catchy but subtle vocal sample that leads the way into layered synth melodies and it’s overall lo-fi, chilled funk aesthetic is a brilliant touch. You can grab the track over at Soundcloud.
