Retro pop with a heavy dose of chronic nostalgia, Toronto’s 1977 is one of those bands that really knows how to revive the much loved aesthetic back from the past. Headed by Julie Kendall’s sugar sweet vocals alongside bandmates Brent Hough, Jordan Bruce, and Owen Marchildon, the band forges concoctions of feverish psychedelia so beguilingly infectious it’s impossible not to fall in love with their dreamy pop sound.
Their newer tracks “Alright” and “Sunshine” are definitely some of the catchiest retro pop efforts out there and you’ll be able to find them off of their digital EP So is the Sea set to drop November 15th. The 5-track EP features songs from their forthcoming full-length sophomore release Seaforth which is due out sometime in 2012. In the meantime, grab these beautiful tracks down below and to top it off, watch the videos for “Alright” here and “Sunshine” here.
