Well, we tried not to like this but failed miserably. Brooklyn’s Big Voyage (a.k.a. Elias Ravin) caught us off guard with his new beat “Tell Me Tell Me” which skillfully utilizes vocal samples like nobody’s business (those jazz harmonies are incredible) while a rich serving of beats and bass complete the mind-blowing texture for this drum & bass piece. Smooth as butter—yet another producer to keep tabs on here. Check out more beats over at his Soundcloud and expect his debut EP Be the One to drop shortly via Cue Recordings/This Way Down.

Miami’s Bayatas really knows how to tap into the spines of summer. His new track “aa” is a tropical fusion of sorts, a world beat reflecting a place where it is always sunny, all the time. It’s a rather nice wonderland for chronic beach-goers and sun-deck loungers. Grab this new jam over at Bandcamp alongside a-side “The Sound of Seventeen”. Also be sure to keep your eyes locked here for some more Bayatas goodness coming up shortly.

San Jose’s 1990 (a.k.a. Moses Abrego) unleashed a new album and “Aphelion” is one of the many tracks on it that absolutely kills it. The producer seems to work primarily with big beats and a full sound which are executed through an emphasis on bass drum-oriented/diverse hip-hop beat work and layers of powerful, vibrant synths. You can catch the rest of the action appearing on the new album The Chassis Collection over at Bandcamp via PIR▲.MD Records.

Here’s the absolutely gorgeous dream-pop cut “Purple Glow” from Murfreesboro’s Arcadia Gardens (a.k.a. Daniel Rutstrom). Leading the way is an array of gorgeous guitar melodies which are coupled with dreamy synths and equally dreamy vocal work. A song about a certain glowing hue occurring between red and blue couldn’t have sounded more beautiful. You can find this track on the brilliant new album Memory Machines which is available over at Bandcamp.

If you haven’t heard of Boston’s Trap Arnold yet, you’re unfortunately and inexcusably missing out because he’s a game changer. His new offering “EndersGame” is simply incredible; sample loops (Hey Arnold!—thanks for the nostalgia), light synths, and slick hip-hop beats never created a more appealing atmosphere. Here’s another producer we’re thoroughly impressed with. Be sure to keep an eye on his work over at his Soundcloud and M|O|D.

Well it’s around that time of year again when songs with a perpetually ‘chill’ disposition crop up without feeling out of place and out of the exponentially growing wave of chill, Bordeaux’s Anymals and his track “Kids Grow Better Under the Sun” has caught our attention with our play-count numbers spread over 2 days now. Easy beats, reverbed vocals, and the crowd ambiance, ocean waves, and kids laughter samples are a nice touch.
Here’s “VRSN”, a gorgeous and dreamy ambient piece by Brighton’s Luvian Sound. It seems the UK is still going strong with their unparalleled supply of innovative young producers who create some of the best ambient electronic stuff out there. Of course, Luvian Sound is obviously no exception here. Be sure to keep an eye on this one as he’s undoubtedly full of potential and check out more of his brilliant offerings over at Soundcloud.

Landed upon the superior beat “Wonderland” from Brighton/Guildford producer Oli Slack via our bud over at Believe in Sound earlier in the day and haven’t stopped spinning it since. Those dancing piano melodies are superb, the synth work brings summertime warmth, and pitch-shifted vocal samples are chopped to perfection while thick hip-hop beats lead the way. This skilled production hits the spot just right and it’s a great way to start the week. The video features edited footage from the 1979 film Sam’s Song alongside some beautiful surf shots. The beach with De Niro, ’70s nostalgia, general fun-in-the-sun—sounds about right. It’s another appropriately smooth jam to mellow-out your night with, at least that’s what we’re going to be doing. Head on over to Armeria’s Soundcloud to keep tabs on this more than promising producer.

Germany’s Hazy Mountains returns with another EP effort and we’re happy to help premiere it by featuring one of the many exceptional cuts on the release called “Reach Out”. Julian Prott yet again brings forth his production skills in this piece, driving forward an enveloping soundscape built of lavish synth work and beautifully reverbed vocals which are submerged into the gorgeous sonic mass. Yet another breathtaking electronic masterpiece here.

Here’s an absolutely gorgeous dream-pop cut titled “Tokyo Ghost” from Philippines’ Maze Mountain (a.k.a. Idris Vicuña). The track shines with a dreamy ’80s veneer and synth pulse, showing pure quality at face value but underlying it all is a drowsily somber yearning and it’s enough to intrigue us. Perhaps it’s the slow and sticky beats that hit hard or the ghostly synths floating around in the background that add a dark and mysterious edge. Hey, we won’t overthink think it. Whatever it is, it’s working. Grab it over at Soundcloud or Bandcamp.

“Love is For” is the brilliant track from the British project French Kissing. The band whose objective is to make songs about “girls and feelings” hit the nail on the head with this one because we can’t think of any other way to express romantic sentiments better than in the form of catchy ’60s surf-pop. Such warm, feel-good vibes make this track incredibly easy and enjoyable to listen to. You can find this track as a part of a double A-side release via Croque Macadam. The new BeachesBeaches jam “DriveSlow” is incredibly breathtaking; those vocal samples couldn’t sound more at place than with those bright, sun-dripping piano notes prancing around the place. All at once blissfully light, refreshing, and exciting, this Bellingham-based producer never ceases to amaze us. In fact, we wouldn’t mind waking up to this on a daily basis.
Here is SNSCRN’s incredible beat “Miss You”, a short yet tasty jam we’ve been spinning for about a week now after we landed upon one of his newer singles. The mysterious beat-maker, apparently hailing from somewhere in the US, has got us drooling all over his Soundcloud page and with only a couple of tracks up there, that’s mighty impressive. This track has particularly caught our attention with its great use of samples and thick hip-hop beats and we can’t seem to get enough of it. Missing someone? Pick this up over at Bandcamp and throw it their way. Message received.

We’re more than excited to help premiere a beautiful new track for our local homie Shaky Snakes. “No Mist” is the dreamily dark electronic opus that creeps around your headspace at midnight, its vocal melodies are whispered while sampled vocals skip and dance around synth melodies in a readily hypnotizing fashion. You can find this track on his forthcoming EP Del Boca Vista set to drop shortly on May 18th with limited edition tapes available now for pre-order via our friends over at Purr Tapes.

Here’s an absolutely stunning track from Hertford’s (UK) OllieMcKendrick-Ness titled “I Can’t Make You”. While this electronic piece is already a couple months old, it looks like it has flown completely under the radar and we’d like to show it some love and help give this project (fronted by a 17 year-old producer) some deserved exposure. This piece takes samples from Bon Iver’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and transforms it into a slow-moving gem, complete with smooth, deep piano melodies and subtle beats that are truly easing and incredibly warming to the soul. If you like this as much as we do, you can grab it over at his Soundcloud and scope for more goods there.

Here’s a brand new electronic banger from Philadelphia’s Tours called “Grand Lux”. The producer shows no sign of stopping; melting those circuits, chopping samples, laying down tight beats—it’s all an effortless feat apparently.
